Our gut is full of microbes which are mostly work as health supporting system. Therefore probiotics which contain live bacteria or yeasts found in fermented foods that, when consumed, take up residence in the gut and improve health, could be one of the best foods. Eat a wide range of plant-based foods. A healthy gut has a diverse community of microbes, each of which prefers different foods. Eat more fibre as most people eat less than they should. Fruit, vegetables, pulses, nuts and whole grains feed healthy bacteria. Moreover, a balanced diet is must for a healthy living.

probably fruit and vegetables, with lots of fibre. We should eat as wide a variety as foods as possible for optimal gut health. This includes lots of fibre. As our guts are full of lots of different microbes all with different functions, they all like to feed on different foods and nutrients. So if we eat a wide variety of foods we will keep them all happy and working efficiently for us.
