      The presence of dangerous chemicals in the soil and in the water can facilitate the formation of mutation.
      Since most of modern crops require that you buy the seeds every year (like corn or grain) I would say that meat is more at risk, even if it’s important to consider that animal and plant (and also us) have many internal defences against mutations.
      It is also important to say that, even if a mutation happen, they are generally uninfluencial on the organism.
